Member Gallery Picture Submission Instruction

Pictures to be submitted to be added to a Member Gallery need to meet the following conditions :

 

a)The member must own the copyright for the picture.  Not an issue if you have taken the picture of the turning.  Do not copy pictures you see on the internet.

 

b)Attach as a .JPG file in an email to Dave Paine. 

If your camera or phone does not create .JPG files you will need to first contact the site admin to see of the file type can be processed. 

 

c) Can attach a group of files.  If more than 1 file in the email, it is recommended to state in the email how many files were attached so I can check that I received the correct number of files.

 

d) Each file should be given a unique name.  Suggestion for file name format is

Type-of-turning_wood-species_sequence-number

 

e) Many cameras give a unique sequence number.  This can be used.

Some cameras and phones do NOT generate a unique file name, e.g., “PHOTO.JPG”.  These need files need to be renamed prior to submission.

 

f)  It is recommended to view the files on a computer monitor prior to submission.  A picture on a phone may appear decent, but when viewed on a computer monitor, it may be out-of-focus.
