2017 – September Meeting

 

Meeting Reports:

2 visitors.

Andy Beal reports 55 paid up members.  Membership for 2018 due soon.

 

 

Meeting Announcements:

MJim Brown looking for volunteers to co-ordinate manning a table at 2018 Tylersport show next March.  Sean Carson is one volunteer.

 

Jim and Butch asking for suggestions for future demonstrations.

 

MAWA symposium Oct 27-28.  Only 180 tickets, almost sold out.

 

Jim has a Presidents challenge due in the November meeting.  Make a small turned item as a gift.

 

Lehigh Valley Meals-On-Wheels donations are due in the October meeting.

 

December meeting will not have a demonstration.   We will have the traditional gift exchange and an extended Show-and-Tell.  Bring in your projects, favorite or unusual tools or jigs to show to other members. 

 

Perpetual Turning:

No turning this month.

 

 

Demonstration:

Butch Ruggiero and Tom Buchner turned small bowls for a future meeting to demonstrate a Mike Hosaluk surface embellishment technique.  Butch and Tom had many bowl blanks for the audience.

Attendees were encouraged to turn their own bowl in the meeting.   Lots of audience participation.   Members took their bowls home to complete and asked to bring the bowl back for the future embellishment demonstration..
