Meeting Reports:

Reminder of dues for 2017.

Meeting Announcements:

Question on tool marks appearing on the inside of a bowl when finish is applied, but not apparent when sanded.  Bill Grumbine felt these were likely from the heel of the bowl gouge.  If so, these are areas where the heel of the gouge has burnished the wood.  Such marks need to be turned away.  Very difficult to sand these out.  Best advise is to remove the heel on the grinder to avoid the issue.

Tylersport show is March 10-12.

Roy Aber gave short discussion on a major pest to look for in PA, the Spotted Lantern Fly.  The page contains information on contacting Emelie Swackhamer if you spot this pest.  It is important to try to eradicate this pest.
