2014 – March Meeting

 

Meeting Reports:

No reports this meeting. Our president was a little out of sorts from back surgery. However, the rest of the meeting went well. 

 

 

Meeting Announcements:

We had two visitors(Ron Sheehan and Keith Lauderback) from the Lancaster Woodturners club who gave a nice presentation on starting a regional symposium in 2016. With 8 clubs in the area and 550 members, a regional symposium could be a nice addition. Rob says our club will form a steering committee to study this issue. We had one additional visitor. 

 

An announcemet was made about the Forks Area Arts Society’s Art in the Park event on May 17, 2014. They are looking for Woodturners interested in displaying their work at this event. 

 

The library has 4 new items. 3 DVD’s covering turned boxes, Christmas ornaments, and Piercing. Also, a new book about wood identification. 

 

One of our members will be bringing some cedar to the next meeting. 

 

 

Perpetual Turning:

The perpetual bowl was turned by Rick Cheever and won by Jim Haley. 

 

 

Demonstration:

Demonstration by Rick Bryant.  Turning streptohedrons.
